Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

The Witnesses is a Christian evangelism app for outreach, prayer, testimony, community encouragement, church discovery, and Gospel conversations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect the following categories of information:

2. Sensitive Content and Consent

The app is religious in nature. Content you create may reveal religious beliefs, prayer needs, ministry activity, location, or personal stories. Do not post or store sensitive information about another person unless you have permission and it is appropriate, safe, and lawful to do so.

3. How We Use Information

4. Location Data

Location features are optional and require device permission. If enabled, location may be used to show nearby evangelism activity, churches, outreach sessions, and map context. You can disable location access in your device settings. Some map features may not work without location access.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the app, such as hosting, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, maps, email, database, and moderation providers. We may also share information if required by law, to protect safety, or to enforce our Terms.

6. Public and Community Content

Testimonies, posts, church listings, prayer requests, outreach updates, profile details, or other content you choose to share may be visible to other users depending on app settings. Use wisdom and avoid posting private information about yourself or others.

7. Data Retention

We retain information while your account is active or as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce policies. Some backup copies may remain for a limited time after deletion.

8. Your Choices

9. Children

The Witnesses is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it. Parents or guardians may contact us for deletion requests.

10. Safety and Emergency Limits

The app is not an emergency service, counseling service, law enforcement tool, or substitute for pastoral, medical, legal, or crisis support. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

11. International Use

Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the app, you understand that privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. If changes are material, we will update the date above and may provide notice in the app or by other reasonable means.
